Farmhouse Jingle Bell Coaster

Image
Nothing says Farmhouse Christmas quite like buffalo check. This year we are planning to decorate our home Farmhouse style with plenty of buffalo check, galvanised steel, wood, and natural materials. I always love to add some home sewn items into our Christmas décor. First up I have made Jingle Bell Coasters using Buffalo Check 1 inch Carolina Gingham by Robert Kaufman Fabrics. I had the perfect black and white gingham in my stash for the band. I added green holly and buttons to finish it off. I love this Jingle Bell Coaster and can’t wait to decorate my home for the holidays. You can find the pattern for the Jingle Bell Coaster in my Etsy store. It comes complete with full sized templates and loads of step by step photos to guide you through the construction process. This project is suitable for confident beginners and can be easily made in under an hour. As a bonus extra the pattern also includes coordinating Bell shaped gift tags by Cool Llama Designs. Daydream Projects

Image
Have you seen the newly released fabric range, Daydream? It is one of the sweetest fabrics ranges I have seen. The gelati colours and whimsical designs that depict the joy of childhood games are perfect for so many projects. Designed by Patty Basemi for Art Gallery Fabrics , the collection of 12 pretty fabrics all feature different designs but work so well together. First up I made a Dresden Placemat . The pretty patchwork petals showcase most of the fabrics it the range. The Wish Jar print is my favourite and Playing Dress Up is a close second. The completed Dresden Placemat is perfect to use as a placemat or mug rug for a special afternoon tea. You can find the pdf Pattern for the Dresden Placemat in our Etsy store. Next I made a Flower Power Pouch using the Gentle Petals print for the petals and the Flutterby Flowers print for the base. This pretty drawstring pouch is perfect for storing little treasures or to use as a lunch bag. You can find the Flower Power Pouch PDF S...

{Book Review} Home Sweet Home Sewing

Image
Home Sweet Home Sewing  is the newly released and much anticipated book by the talented Helen Philipps . It is packed full of sweet and practical items to make as gifts or for yourself. It is such a pretty book and will certainly inspire you to give the gift of handmade this Christmas. I was so pleased to be invited to participate in the book tour for this gorgeous and inspiring book. The hardest part was choosing which project to make first! I selected the Postage Stamp Pincushion, which consists of a pretty patchwork front that includes a sweet 3D butterfly detail. I decided to transform the pincushion into a lavender sachets that I can give as small handmade gifts this Christmas. I machine pieced my 1.5 inch squares instead of using English paper piecing (EPP) suggested in the book for a faster finish. I love the effect of using one colour family in my patchwork so made these from my favourite pink and yellow scraps. Love a good scrapbuster project! Polka dot butterflies...
