Christmas Trivet

With Christmas just 5 weeks away, we are getting ready to start some of our Christmas traditions. We love to spend cosy evenings watching Christmas movies and drinking hot chocolate. Perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit! Our favourite Christmas movie in Love Actually but we are looking forward to watching a selection on Netflix. Do you have a favourite Christmas film?

We set up a Hot Chocolate station in our kitchen with all of our seasonal Christmas mugs and a selection of hot chocolate and other treats. I made a Christmas themed hexagon trivet to use as a mug rug. This is easily constructed using our beginner friendly pdf sewing pattern – Easy Hexagon Trivet and Coasters. This pattern couldn’t be easier – you need seven 10 inch squares of quilting fabric for each trivet. Perfect way to showcase your favourite Christmas quilting fabrics. I used Under the Christmas Tree by Lecien Fabrics. This is an older range from 2016 in traditional red and green colourway.

Using my Silhouette Portrait, I cut the Gingerbread Bakery sign from white vinyl and applied to a small blackboard from Kmart. It was a fun decoration to make and adds a festive touch to our kitchen.

You can find our Easy Hexagon Trivet and Coasters pdf Sewing Pattern in our Etsy store. If you make some, please share on Instagram using #easyhexagontrivetandcoaster
