Easter Gift Bag

With 4 weeks until Easter, I have made a start on my Easter sewing with these Easter Gift Bags. They are perfectly sized to hold a small Easter gift such as a coffee mug filled with chocolate eggs or other special treat.

I found this lovely Easter themed fabric at Hawthorne Supply Company. The Cottontail collection is filled with bunnies, florals, ginghams, damask, dots, and more. I love this sweet colour palette – perfect for spring. It paired well with Dear Stella tiny heart fabric that I had in my stash.

The Easter Gift Bag was made using the Handy Drawstring Pouch PDF Sewing Pattern, available in my Etsy store. I cut 15, 2 inch squares. The were sewn together in 5 rows of 3. I used the template to cut the panel into the desired shape. For the opposite side, I added coordinating fabric to the sides and bottom of the feature bunny print, and then cut to size.

The Easter Gift Bag came together quickly and was a fun weekend afternoon sewing project.
